Who Killed William Hyde?

In this address Anne will give us a brief biography of Constable William Hyde and the events leading to his death on Tusmore Avenue. Reference will be made to eyewitness accounts, the inquest report and the establishment of the various Hyde memorials.
Anne Both is a founding member of the BHS a former Burnside resident and member of the Australasian Mining Historical Association. She has written for the BHS newsletter and compiled and updated the BHS cumulative Index of Newsletters on two occasions. Tonight’s topic arose out of her interest in the changes to the Hyde memorial site which occurred in the 1980s. The events which took Hyde’s life were researched by Anne at a time of more changes.
