The Teapot and The Bible
Presented by Pam Gray
Pam Gray and Barbara Macey are the great-great-granddaughters of Frederick George Waterhouse. In their address they will give us a brief biography of Waterhouse and his association with John McDouall Stuart and the Great Northern Expedition, blazing the trail for the later Overland Telegraph. They will give particular attention to his association with Burnside, the Waterhouse family having lived at Wandeen on Lockwood Road (demolished, but commemorated by one of the Society’s plaques).
In the course of hearing family anecdotes we will learn how Barbara came into possession of the silver tea pot and how Pam acquired the family Bible.
