Show and Tell with a Bell: Historic items with a Burnside connection
Presented by Members of the Burnside Historical Society
The Burnside Historical Society’s aim is to preserve, protect, promote and celebrate the history of Burnside. It’s wonderful to know that many items of historical significance are in safe keeping.
These items will be on display at this meeting. The owners will each give a 4 minute talk about the object outlining:
- how it was acquired
- the significance to the owner
- the significance to Burnside
- the significance to the State
Each talk will be enhanced with up to 4 photos to be shown on a PowerPoint during the presentation.
When the time is up, an historic bell, from a now demolished Burnside home, will be rung.
BHS members Margaret Ford, Helen Bills, Judy Fander, Bob Stace, Roger Bills, Richard House and Colin Harris as well as long time Burnside resident Barb Paton are the custodians of the items. To whet your appetite, but not give away too much, the treasures to be shown include art works, fabric, implements, books and kitchen essentials.
